Taxidermy Studio
In 1962, Joe "Kastaway" Kulis moved from his home studio to the present location in Bedford, Ohio. Over the years, the building has seen
manu renovations as did the process of taxidermy used by Kulis. After a visit to the Smithsonian, Joe discovered the process of freeze drying
and after many sleepless nights, he figured out how to make it a viable tool for comercial taxidermists. One of the first animals he preserved
was a Pit Bull, over 40 years ago, and so started "freeze dry taxidermy". That dog, and Joe, were recently highlighted on History Channel's
episode of "Modern Marvels" entitled "The History of Taxidermy".
