Welcome to Kastaway.com
Kulis Freeze Dry Taxidermy was established in 1968, and has grown into one of the largest taxidermy studios in the Midwest. Joe "Kastaway" Kulis pioneered the use of freeze dryers in this industry, and has been using the process for at least the last twenty-five years. Walking into his showroom is like walking into a museum… with mounted animals from all over the world. Kulis specializes in North American and African trophies, but fish make up the bulk of his work.

Over the years since, the freeze drying has expanded to include document restoration...saving the water damaged documents for some of the most prestigious companies in the country.
Freeze drying has taken Joe down other roads as well. When he learned that the process intensifies the scent of a baitfish by 500 times, Joe thought that this would be a great tool for fishermen. Hence, the introductions of "Kastaway's Freeze Dry Bait" for both fresh and salt water fishing. Over time, Kodiak Fish Attractants evolved, and both these products have been hugely successful in the fishing industry.
As if this wasn't enough, Kastaway produces and stars in his own television series, "The Outdoor World of Kastaway Kulis" which takes viewers around the country and around the world on fishing and hunting adventures. This series airs on The Outdoor Channel at various times throughout the year.
